19 Things Google Analytics Can Teach You About Your Small Business
Google Analytics – the best free tool on the web for your small business. Have you heard of it? Perhaps you have, but you’re a little hesitant to get into anything that means looking at a bunch of data or installing some sort of foreign code on your website.
I have a short bit of advice for you:
STOP reading this article and go install Google Analytics. Right now.
Seriously! Check out my beginner’s guide to how to install Google Analytics if you need some guidance – it’s a super simple process I promise (even simpler if you’re on a WordPress site).
Ugh, but why should I bother, you ask? I’ll give you 19 reasons:
1 – Do I need a mobile site?
2 – Where in the world are my web visitors located?
3 – Are people downloading my whitepaper or report?
4 – What keywords are people using to find my website?
5 – What social media sites are sending me traffic?
6 – What sites are my newsletter sign-ups coming from?
7 – Should I offer international shipping?
8 – How long are people staying on my site?
9 – Are people pressing play on my video?
10 – What pages immediately precede my newsletter sign ups or contact form completions?
11 – Are there 404 (broken link) errors on my site?
12 – How long is my Adwords traffic staying on my site?
13 – How effective are my sales pages?
14 – Where are there holes in my sales process?
15 – What content should I develop more of? What are people most interested in?
16 – Does my site look OK in my visitors’ browsers and screens?
17 – What are visitors searching for ON my site?
18 – Which campaign has sent the most buyers to my site? Email marketing? Banner Ad?
19 – Where are people leaving my site? What content is least effective?
Google Analytics tells you exactly where your visitors are coming from, how long they’re staying, where in the world are they, what keywords they may have used to get to you, what pages they’re leaving on and SO much MORE.
Wonder no more. Google Analytics has the answer.
